Role Summary
The Charitable Organisation Manager will provide strategic leadership and operational management across ICGC UK/Europe’s charitable activities, ensuring compliance with Charity Commission requirements, effective governance, and alignment with the church’s mission and vision. This senior role requires a balance of the charity sector and an understanding of faith-based organizational dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and implement strategic plans for ICGC UK/Europe’s charitable operations and mission delivery
- Provide leadership on charity governance, ensuring compliance with Charity Commission regulations and charity law
- Advise the Board of Trustees on organizational development, risk management, and regulatory compliance
- Lead on the development of new charitable initiatives and programs aligned with the church’s mission
- Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of charitable programs and impact measurement
Operational Management
- Manage day-to-day operations of the church’s charitable activities across multiple locations
- Ensure effective resource allocation and operational efficiency across all church programs
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems for charitable operations
- Oversee safeguarding policies and ensure compliance across all charitable activities
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including local authorities, partner organizations, and funders
Financial Management and Fundraising
- Work with the finance team to develop and manage charitable budgets
- Oversee fundraising strategies and income generation activities
- Ensure financial accountability and transparency in all charitable operations
- Prepare financial reports for trustees and regulatory bodies
- Identify funding opportunities and support grant applications
Compliance and Governance
- Ensure ICGC UK maintains compliance with Charity Commission requirements
- Prepare annual reports, accounts, and regulatory filings
- Maintain charity registers and records in accordance with legal requirements
- Advise on charity law, governance best practices, and regulatory changes
- Lead on due diligence for partnerships and collaborative projects
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead and manage staff involved in charitable operations
- Build organizational capacity through training and development
- Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and Christian service
- Coordinate volunteers across charitable programs
- Support the professional development of team members
Ministry Integration
- Ensure charitable activities reflect and support ICGC’s spiritual mission
- Integrate kingdom values into organizational systems and culture
- Collaborate with pastoral leadership on ministry strategy
- Support the spiritual development of staff and volunteers
Essential Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Charity Management, Public Administration, or related field
- Essential: Minimum 5 years’ experience in charity management or senior leadership in the not-for-profit sector
- Essential: Demonstrated knowledge of UK charity law, Charity Commission requirements, and charity governance
- Essential: Proven experience in strategic planning and operational management
- Essential: Experience managing budgets and financial oversight
- Desirable: Professional qualification in charity management or governance (e.g., Certificate in Charity Management)
- Desirable: Experience in the faith-based or religious charity sector
- Desirable: Completion of ICGC ABC Bible Class (Ministry Level) or equivalent theological training

Skill Level and Salary Information
(For UKVI Sponsorship Compliance)
- SOC Code: 1135 – Charitable Organisation Managers and Directors
- Skill Level: RQF Level 6 (Bachelor’s degree level)
- Annual Salary: £44,300 per annum (based on 37.5 hours per week)
- Hourly Rate: £22.72 per hour
- Going Rate: £44,300 (standard rate for SOC 1135)
Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR)
Under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010, being a practicing Christian is a genuine occupational requirement for this role. The postholder will be expected to:
- Support and promote the Christian ethos and values of ICGC
- Participate in corporate prayer and devotional activities
- Lead with Christian values and principles
- Serve as a role model of Christian conduct and character
Working Conditions
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Location: ICGC London offices with occasional travel to other UK/Europe locations
- Occasional Requirements: Evening and weekend work for church events; UK and international travel as needed
